As if MGS2 didn't teach us that already.
I forgot about Splinter Cell: Conviction. I want that as well. The 2 genre's i dislike are RPG's (Western and Eastern) and FPS's are pretty big this gen. My action adventure games isn't coming out as much as they used to. Mass Effect though (and The Witcher) are basically the only 2 RPG's that's peaked my interest this gen. Not Oblivion, Fallout, Fable, Folklore, Valkyrie Cronicals etc.
I agree with the L4D point as well. People love to slurp Valve. Valve for me is very hit and ...
I don't want neither L4D, Halo 3 or Fable 2. Just not interested. But you could tack on Ninja Gaiden 2 and Alan Wake in their place for me. And then the list would be perfect.
I don't believe in DLC (i've said this COUNTLESS times) but god damn it if that DLC pack isn't calling my name.
!
Yes the money they use could be used to help fund a new game. But look at the marketing campaigns themselves. The commercials, the tie-ins etc. You got to hand it to them they are pretty effective and catchy. I would have liked to see some ad campaigns like that for MGS4. Catchy music and well edited.
I loved the Uncharted ads when it first came out but there wasn't nearly enough of them shown. The ads captured the games essence perfectly. Witty, charming and pretty action packed...
I have to say MS's marketing is pretty damn good. I think they would have marketed MGS4 and Resistance 2 better. It's just something about MS's marketing that *clicks*.
No love for LBP? I'd actually put LBP right there with MGS4. An amazing game and my personal game of the year. An absolutely amazing game. If i had to pick my top 3 games this gen. In order they'd be:
1: Uncharted
2: LBP
3: MGS4
This is just my list. Uncharted and LBP was just so fresh and unexpected. MGS4 wasn't better than MGS3 in my opinion and let me down a bit gameplay wise. It's still the best story ever told in gaming. And has THE strongest moment...
I would like to hear the opinion on the people who disagreed with me. Maybe selling 300,000 units for a new IP is bad when it was being hyped. Yes i get that. But 300,000 units for a new game franchise in general is good. I didn't say great. Selling 1 million or something like that in one region for a new IP is great. LBP is doing decent numbers.
No not what many expected. I didn't expect it to be the next "Mario" or whatever. But the game, the actual GAME is a great g...
Not the "Next coming of Mario" that people said it would be. But 300,000 sales in 2 months for a new IP is good. Nearly 1 million units moved worldwide is good as well.
Ugh i hated facing them on God Mode. That entire fight felt impossible for a long while for me. You have to constantly roll and juggle them as they come. Activate rage of the gods at the right time and spam the sh*t out of Posiedons rage. GoW my favorite game of all time. Every minute of that game felt amazing.
And at any given moment i'd say it had to be about 15 of those Bizarro Kratos's at once. About 2 of them on one floating platform in the back (there was 3 of them floatin...
Yeah. I didn't really like how the video was edited. Yeah i know it was a teaser but i just felt like it jumped from setting to setting too much. But i watched it a few more times and the battle with the legoinares i liked quite a bit. The new wolf gauntlets they showed him wearing i think they showed that a bit too early.
Like i read somewhere else this GoW is looking to be more dark than the other 2. Just look at the environments they shown in the teaser. Have a very dark fore...
Blown away.
F*** how many undead legoinaires there are in the pic. Look closely at the environment. I see old rusty chains. Could this be early in the game where GoW2 left off climbing mount Olympus on the back of Chronos?
Liked this teaser trailer quite alot. Loved the Uncharted flavor of Nathans wit.
Its hard NOT to get excited about my favorite franchise of all time though.
@N4U: I've only been disapointed by sex once. And that's when me and my girlfriend had some makeup sex once. I hated having to lie to her and said she was "great".
I laughed the original Mafia. Looking forward to the second game. Though the new main character seems more like a ladies man than a family man like how the original protagonist.
Big disappointment. I absolutely hated how they edited the teaser. It bounces around too much from setting to setting. Also the gauntlets he was wearing should have been kept under wraps because honestly they didn't look to hot.
That's the thing narrative and story are all part of the video game experience. The characters, the full immersion in the environment. You play through segments of the overall story/adventure but the narrative is what drives you along with gameplay. It's part of the entire experience of playing a game.
That's the thing i believe basically that all that DLC that dev's charge us should be on the disk. Or at least a fair portion of some of that stuff. You can't honestly tell me that the majority of DLC couldn't also be put on the disk.
If anyone has done DLC right it's been criteon. Giving away a slew of free updates now charging for some extra stuff. I have no problem with that. After all the stuff they gave the buyers for free charging for some stuff now isn't a problem at all....
